HRS review meeting on 10.05.2010

Humanitarian Relief Society (HRS), a NGO formed in 2003 by Jamaat e Islami Hind, Karnataka & Goa Zone to serve the people in needy especially in case of emergencies due to natural as well as human calamities. The Social service wing of the Jamaat in Karnataka has about 300 committed volunteers including 100 women who are expected to gather at one phone call to meet the emergencies. So far it has organised a number of medical camps, relief camps during Karnataka floods in October 2009, blood identification camps, Chicken Guinea camps, construction of houses to the poorest of the poor and construction of 110 houses to the poor people who lost every thing during last years flood.

The Gulbarga unit of HRS is also engaged in such activities. It has collected a huge sum of amount from the well to do people to cater to the needs of flood effected people. It has supplied about 6000 dresses donated by the people in the city to the affected. It has organised free medical camps in 5 places one which for 13 days. In the city it has a group of blood doners and on an average about 5 units of blood is being given every month to the needy.

During the visit of Janab Fauq Nahster, Sate Secretary, HRS to Gulbarga on 10.05.2010 it organised a review meeting of the volunteers to know their individual work as well as collective work. Jb Farukh Nashter said that we are doing this social work exclusively to please almighty Allah and for the success in the here after.

Mansoora Islamia Arabic College Entrance test at Gulbarga

Entrance test to the admission in the Islamia Arabic College, Mansoora, Hassan were held in Gulbarga on Sunday the 9th May, 2010 at Human Age Urdu High, Gulbarga. Out of 25 students appeared for the exam in which an entrance test and an interview were conducted 22 meritorious were selected.

Islamia Arabic College, Mansoor was started in the year 1984 by Jamaat e Islami Hind, Karnataka & Goa zone under the Masoora Educatiobal & Welfare Trust (R) with the objectives

To promote quality education with Islamic orientation.

To promote excellent manners and high moral values

For the development of overall personality of the students and optimum nourishment of their natural talents.

Prepare dtudents to render their obligation towards society as an ambassador of Islam.

Mansoora has been conducting entrance exam in Gulbarga for past several years for the convenience of pupils from Gulbarga region. And a large number being admitted from this region.

Symposium on "Destructive effects of Interest(Riba`) & Its Islamic Solution

Should Ulema start speaking not only about Namaz, Fasting, but also on burning issues of the society like on the evil effects of interest bases economy, they together with intellectuals work towards eradication of this evil, the society will get rid of this evil. These were these marks made by Jb Abdul Rafeeq, Member, Central Advisory Council, Jamaat e Islami Hind, while presiding over the seminar on “The Destructive effects of Interest(Riba) ans Islam the only solution” organised by Jamaat e Islami Hind, Gulbarga on 02.05.2010 at Mohammad Function Hall.

He said why people do note develop hatredness about Interest like they hate adultery, alcoholism, gambling and eating pork ? The interest based economy has engulfed the society like cancer even though stringent guidelines have been given in Qur`aan and sunnah. As soon as the Islam prohibited Interesr Hazrat Abbas (R) the Uncle of Prophet PBUH came forward and waved the interest of the people owed to him. He said Islam prohibited Interest while business as Halaal. Today the one who gives loan lays the conditions whereas Islam teaches that the loan giver should accept the conditions of the loan taker.

Addressing the large gathering he said Prophet PBUH brought about reforms the economic system and made Masjid e Nabavvi as the hub of economic activity, where different commodities were brought and sold based on the Islamic guidelines. Prophet PBUH appointed inspectors to monitor the regulations. There were women inspectors, which reveals that even women were participating in business activities. It is time to create such small markets in different localities so that the benefits gained and the society is freed from Interest.

He felt that ways have to be created in India for the interest free market by amendments in Parliament. Kerala has taken initiation in this regard and found to be a good experiment. He said the halaal earning should be made. Today even non Muslim brothers are introduced to non Interest banking ie., Islamic Banking. They showing keen interest. He said there are over 300 Islamic banks spread over 75 countries in the world. And asked why not in Mumbai and Chennai. Its need of the hour that muslim Ummah should become practicing ummah. He quoted many incidents from the early days of Islam.

The symposium was attended by about 550 people comprising of Intellectuals, leading businessman, Ulema, dignitaries. Moulana Vasiullah Rahmani, Khateeb & Imam of Masjid e Aiwanshahi and Moulan Nisar Ahmed Qasmi of Masjid Arafat spoke as chief guests. Moulana Vasiullah Rahmani said interest is made haraam for humanity. Even non Muslim brothers also be protected from this evil system He said we try to lend loan to those who are actually benefited from zakaat. He called for the establishment of baitul malls where in needy are given interest free loans.

Muqami Shoora Created

Janab Mohammed Abdullah Javid, President, Jamat e Islami Hind, Karnataka & Goa has declared the names of local advisory council members (Muqami Shoora) based on the votes of all members (Arkan e Jamaat) of Gulbarga. The members are 1. Jb M.Abdul Qader, 2. Jb Zakir Hussain, 3. Jb M.Yousuf Khan, 4. Jb Gulam Mustafa, 5. Jb Dr Muazzam Ali, 6. Jb Syed Sajid Saleem and 7. Jb Syed Tanvir Hashmi.
The shoora normally is formed for the period of two years which is the period of functioning for Ameer e Muqami. However this was not formed here this year. Now as the number of Arkan has increased to 32 and due other reasons it was felt that the local shoora is required. Thus as per the guidlines in the Constitution of Jamaat it was created. It functions upto March 2011.

Idara Adab e Islami`s One day Conference

The Jamaat e Islami Hind`s wing Idara Adab e Islami organaised one day Conference in Faraan Colleg, Gulbarga on 18.04.2010
As part of this Conference the following prgrammes are organised
1st Session:Seminar
Wel known scholars from Urdu Literature presented their papers. They are
Jb Rawoof Khair Hyderabad, presented his paper on " Adab men Tameeri rujhanat"
Jb Wahab Andalip. Gulbarga, presented his paper on "Urdu Adabi Tahrikat ek Jayeza"
Jb Aslam Ghazi, Mumbai (who did not turn up due to travelling difficulties sent his paper on " Quran ka Adabi Eizaz"
Jb Dr Zeenat ullah Javid from Nagur, presided and offered his comments on the papers presented.

2nd Session:WORKSHOP
Two of the upcomming poets presented thier art of poetry. They are Jb Ateeq Ajmal and Jb Hasan Mahemood. Comments were presented by Jb Raqwwoh Khair, Hyderabad and Jb Tabish Mehdi, Delhi.
Then three of the upcomming Afsan writers presented thier Afsane. They are Jb Yousuf Raheem Bidar, Jb Sultan Farhat and Jb Syed Sajid. Jb Amjad Javid of Nation College Gulbarga and Jb Nazim Qalili of Raichur offered thier comments on Afsane presented.
3rd Session: All India Mushayera
The All India Mushayera was organised from 9.00pm in the open ground of Faraan College in which hundreds of people gathered. The Mushayera was started with the recitation of verses from Holy Qur`an by Br Abdul Baseer Faraaz. Moulvi Mohammed Faheemuddin presented tazkeer based on islamic teachings qouting the verses from Holy Qur`an and with the help of Prophets (PBUH) sayings. Then the well known shoora like Jb Tabish Mehdi from Delhi, Jb Iqbal Qalish from Akkalkote said Naat. Jb Dr Zeenat ullah Javid from Nagpur, Jb Rawoof Khair from Hyderabad, Jb Tanha Timmapuri Rangampeth, Dr Tabish Mehdi from Delhi, Jb Masood Javid Hashmi from Hyderabad, JB Hamid Akmal Gulbarga, Jb Saber Faqruddin Yadgir, Jb Nazim Qalili Raichur, Jb Hyder Mazhari Bellari, Jb Fazal Afzal Yadgir, Jb Qaisar Razaq Raichur, Jb Masood Abdul Qaliq Gulbarga, Jb Meer Bidri Bidar, Jb Vasiullah Rahmani Gulbarga, read thier sher to the delight of hundreds of people gathered.

Gulbarga-Bidar Districts Local Leaders Review Meeting at Gulbarga

On Wednesday the 10th March 2010 Local Leaders meet for the districts of Gulbarga and Bidar was conducted at Jamaat`s office Shanti Sandesh, Rahmatnagar, Gulbarga under the Presidentship of Jb Mohammed Yousuf Kanni, Nazim e Ilaqa, Gulbarga. The meeting was attended by the Unit Presidents from Gulbarga, Sedam, Yadgir(Gulbarga Dist), Bidar, Basavakalyan, Bhalki(Bidar Dist) and the Unit Organisers from Kurikota, Chitapur, Timmapur, Chincholi(Gulbarga Dist), Humnabad, Kamthana, Bhatamra and Mathala(Bidar Dist).

The meeting reviewed the organisational matters like Conducting of weekly programmes, Review meeting for Members, maintenance of Baitul maal, conducting of programmes acoording to local two year plan, reporting sysytem. The Jamaats like Gulbarga and Bidar wewe found to be progressing according to thier local two year pregramme. Many activities are being undertaken in these units. Most of the programmes found to be well organised. Conduction of monthly review meeting for Arkan in Gulbarga by giving agenda for discussion well in advance was appreciated. In some of the smaller units weekly programmes are not being conducted. The Instuctions were given by the Nazim e Ilaqa to units whose purformance was not to expectation so that in the comming days they can improve thier performance.

The Nazim e Ilaqa explained about the up comming Gram Panchayat elections where in Jamaat is fielding its candidates in some of the wards like in the villages of Yalwar and Kurikota. He explained the things to be done to guide the voters in the other villages where Jamaat is not directly involved in election so the right kind of people are elected to serve the people.

Nazim e Ilaqa also explained about the political situation in the state following the publication of blasphemous article (translated version of Tasleema Nasreens article) in Kannada Prabha on 28.02.2010 in which The Prophet PBUH and his wives (R) were presented in a way which saddens the faithful. The artcle was against the purda. Jb Yousuf Kanni explained the Jamaat`s efforts in taking the Muslim leadership to Chief Minister, Governor and the Editor of the concerned paper and how these efforts were succeeded. He also expalined about the afforts by Jamaat in maintaing peace in the state in general and Shimoga and Hassan in particular.

Among other things the Articl 371 which has been the burning topic in northern Karnataka since past few days, was also discussed and decided to form a Study Committee under the Chairmanship of Jb Abdul Quddusm Chincholi to study the article 371 in detail, efforts made by different organisation so far, give openion about jamaat taking this issue bases on its basic policy. The committe was asked to submit its report by 15.03.2010.
